T. S. Rendall Library: Who

This is your go-to guide for the library at Prairie College. Find answers to your questions about the library.

Who works at the library?

Library staff includes the Library Director, Reference Librarian, and Technical Services Assistant. We also have student workers during the school year. Everyone who works in the library is ready and willing to help you find what you need. You are never bothering us if you ask us questions. It is the best part of our day!

Library Director

More about Emily

Education:

  • BA (Hons.) English, Minor History, Brandon University
  • MLIS, University of Alberta

A bit about me:

  • I have wanted to be a librarian since I was in Grade 9. As such, I am thrilled to be able to help Prairie students find the information they need! My library interests include archives, library space planning, knowledge evaluation and preservation, and student engagement. When not at the library, I enjoy lap swimming, baking (ask me how my sourdough starter Hank is doing), listening to true crime podcasts (suggestions welcome), and tending to my plants (yes, they all have names!).

Some things I can help you with:

  • Finding resources, formatting papers in Turabian and APA style, health sciences/nursing research, ordering and purchasing textbooks, archives, and most other library questions.

Where you can find me:

  • You can find me in my office in the back (you can wave to me through the windows), but I am more than happy to come out and help you!

Reference Librarian

More about Kristen

Education:

  • BA English, Minor French Language, Trinity Western University
  • PDP (Faculty of Education), Simon Fraser University
  • MLIS, University of Alberta

A bit about me:

  • I believe in libraries and the positive ways they can impact the communities they serve. As reference librarian my primary responsibility is to connect library users with the information they need. I also give books their addresses and subjects so that you can find them. Other library interests include Human Information Interaction, Information Literacy, and Accessibility. In non-work hours I enjoy reading, writing, good coffee, time with my family, and long walks. Lately I dream about hiking the South Downs Way and the West Highland Way!

Some things I can help you with:

  • Reference questions, finding resources, learning how to search the catalogue and databases, interlibrary loans, citations, textbooks, and most other library questions.

Where you can find me:

  • I can be found at the reference desk out front. If I am not there, ring the bell.

Technical Services Assistant

More about Rebekah

Education:

  • BBS Biblical Studies, Minor Church Music, Peace River Bible Institute

A bit about me:

  • I first developed an interest in library work as a student leader a few years ago. As Library Technical Services Assistant, I primarily work behind the scenes updating records and keeping resources in good condition. I enjoy chatting about research topics and connecting with the students in the library. When not in the library, I'm often in the music building practicing, teaching, writing, or chatting. You can find my music on your favorite streaming platform :)

Some things I can help you with:

  • Finding resources, textbook orders/returns, and I'll do my best to answer questions or find someone who can. If a book needs mending, you can give it to me in the back office.

Where you can find me:

  • On Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday afternoons you can find me in the back staff room. If no one's around, ring the bell, and I'll gladly try to help you.
